Wayfarer Sync is a real-time, offline-first collaborative trip itinerary mapping platform[cite: 1]. To provide our collaborative mapping services, we collect the following types of information:

*   **Map Visualization:** To render your personal colored polyline trail and live position markers on the shared map interface[cite: 4].

*   **Offline Synchronization:** To log your GPS coordinates into an offline local database cache when network connectivity drops, and automatically synchronize this data with our servers once a connection is restored[cite: 4].

### 3. How We Share Your Information

Your privacy and safety are our priority. We only share your data in the following ways:

*   **Service Providers:** We route location data to the OpenStreetMap (OSM) Nominatim API and OSRM (router.project-osrm.org) solely to provide map tiles, reverse geocoding for destinations, and road-based route visualizations[cite: 1, 4].

We **do not** sell your personal data or location history to third-party advertisers or data brokers.

### 4. Data Storage and Security

*   **Local and Cloud Storage:** Your travel data is stored locally on your device using a reactive SQLite database and securely synced to our centralized PostgreSQL database[cite: 1, 4]. 

*   **Security Measures:** All server communications require authentication via JSON Web Tokens (JWT)[cite: 3]. Your account password is cryptographically hashed before being stored in our database[cite: 3]. ### 5. Data Retention and Deletion

*   **Ended Trips:** When a trip is marked as "Ended," live tracking stops for all members, and the trip is moved to your Trip History[cite: 3, 4].
